She points out this is really about insurance costs that have spiked 20x in some cases since the war started. Until these rates return to normal, the Strait remain effectively closed.

I chatted with PwC chief economist Lullu Krugel ahead of the Sarb rate decision that ultimately saw no change to rates. If we see oil remaining elevated and the rand weaker, inflation could move well outside of the current target band that has a 4% upper limit. This could see rates hikes later this year.
