The companies said the rollout reflects continued efforts to localise production and strengthen South Africa’s automotive value chain, particularly in the commercial vehicle segment.
The Rosslyn plant, which spans about 35 000 m², has an installed capacity of more than 2 200 vehicles a year, with scope to scale output in line with demand.
It assembles multiple models, including the Ultra, Prima and LPT ranges.

Tata Africa managing director Jacques Taylor said the milestone reflects sustained investment in local capability and skills development.
“Facilities like these demonstrate how sustained investment in local capability, skills development and operational excellence can create meaningful impact within the industries and communities we serve,” he said.
The company said it continues to expand its dealer network and aftersales support, alongside efforts to improve parts availability and service capacity for fleet operators.
The milestone comes as manufacturers position themselves to benefit from growing demand in logistics and transport, driven by e-commerce and supply chain expansion.
